USF Looks to Continue Road Dominance in Conference Play

Fresh off their win over Florida Atlantic on Sunday Afternoon at home, the USF Bulls are back on the road Wednesday night to extend their road winning streak.

The Bulls will play the Tulane Green Wave in a nationally televised game on ESPNU at 9 PM on Wednesday.

The Bulls are 13-7 on the season, 5-2 in conference play, with both losses coming in overtime at home.

USF has won four out of its last five and is riding a two-game winning streak.

USF also enters the game with a NET ranking of 70 and a BPI of 70.

Tulane enters the game with a 12-8 record and a 3-4 conference record. The Green Wave has a NET ranking of 205 and a BPI of 177.

Tulane enters the game riding a four-game losing streak and will try to snap that streak tonight against the Bulls.

Tulane has been very good this season, going 8-4 at home, but has yet to play a team as talented as the Bulls.

This matchup will pit USF’s rebounding, scoring depth, and overall momentum against an inconsistent Tulane team.

Although the Green Wave plays well at home, they are inconsistent both offensively and defensively, and USF will look to take advantage of those weaknesses.

The Bulls remain number one in the conference and are 13th in the nation in scoring, averaging 88.6 points per game.

Tulane does have very good guard play from sophomore Rowan Brumbaugh, who leads the Green Wave, averaging 19.5 PPG.

Brumbaugh also averages 4.9 rebounds a game, 3.3 assists a game, and is good for 2.0 steals per game.

The Green Wave also looks to Curtis Williams Jr. (13.3 PPG), Asher Wood (12.2 PPG), and Tyler Ringgold, who averages 8.9 PPG for additional scoring.

Ringgold has a groin injury and is questionable to play.

Tulane will have a difficult time matching up inside with Izaiyah Nelson and Damien Collins.

Nelson leads the Bulls in scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.7 and 10.2, respectively.

Tulane will also need to guard the three-point line as the trio of Joe Pinion, Wes Enis, and Josh Omojafo can turn a close game into a blowout very quickly.

In the game against Charlotte, Tulane forced 17 turnovers. USF has had a knack for turning the ball over recently (26 turnovers in the last two games), so it will be important for USF to take care of the basketball and make good decisions.

Last Time Out:

Tulane lost to Charlotte 76-73.

USF beat FAU 89-74.

USF is favored by 8.5 points.
